I have a friend who is pregnant with twins right now in addition to having a daughter at home. One of her babies is not expected to live and she has created this AMAZING thing to honor her son.

I could go on and on and tell you all about it, but really, his Mama does it so much better.

Anyway- The Beast is another month older. Mostly this is just going to be about funny things he says because it’s pretty cute listening to a two year old talk and I won’t remember these all forever.

*Ah hep-a yew ( I’ll help you)

*Yew hep-a me? (You help me?)

*Mine hode it! (I hold it)

*Khaki (Cassie)

*Pea hout (Peace out) this one hold the title of my favorite. I make him say it all the time. It’s awesome.

*Main-in (Mason) he also will call him Main if someone else calls him Mase.

*Jack-in (Jackson)

*He used to call Dylan “Did-in” and now he calls him “Dee-din”

*he-shing (fishing)

*Moni (Zamboni)

*He really loves to sing, and he insists that you sing with him. He will tell you what to sing to. He likes “sun-sun” (Mr. Sun) “happy a-yew” (Happy Birthday) “E-ah-ooooooh” (Old MacDonald) and my personal favorite “HOW I” (Twinkle, Twinkle). That is just the funniest thing. You start singing Twinkle, twinkle and then he will scream/sing “HOW I” at the top of his lungs for the rest of the song all while making this funny face. Cute.

*He really loves anything with a siren (wee-ooo-wee-ooo) and monster trucks (monstahs) and hockey (hockey-ball geme)

Funniest. kid. ever. We are so lucky to have him in our lives.

Intentions is the key word in that sentence, I guess.

Instead, I have Christmas cards, but they are nowhere near mailed out. I’ll try to get to them before Valentines Day or something. That cute video I wanted to make? I kinda got it. He was just so much more interested in his Zamboni that he got for Christmas than he was in talking to the camera. I get it, it’s a cool Zamboni.

I tried.

He loves the Zamboni so much that he insisted on sleeping with it.

I tried to take it out of his hand multiple times after he fell asleep and he woke up and cried for his “boni”

I know a little about being a step parent. The hubby and I started dating when Dylan was just shy of 2.

Younger than Luke is now.

That amazing kid is now 12 and that means I’ve spent a decade as a Stepmom. (ok, 5 1/2 years technically, but you know what I mean)

I really and truly understand why parents get threatened by stepparents and vise versa, but what most people don’t understand is that there is no such thing as too many people loving a child.

Much like adoption, blended families can’t happen without there being a loss first. I know what that feel like.

Maybe that is a strange thing for someone dealing with infertility to say, but it’s true. They seems to be great parents who have great kids. I was heartbroken right along with them when they suffered the loss of their latest pregnancy.

I’ve lost babies.

Those babies were very real to me, the instant I knew about them. Losing them was the hardest thing. If you’ve ever been pregnant or been matched with an expectant mom, you know what I’m talking about.

I was SO offended by some of the comments that people had in regards to the loss of this baby.

A real baby.

With real parents.

A real loss.

The internet makes you feel anonymous and safe sometimes and that can be good, but it can also be all kinds of bad.

Please, pretty please, read this article. It’s no secret that I love The R House, but this blog post really meant a lot to me.

Judging The Duggars

I really love that he sleeps with a nuk in his mouth and one on his thumb. You know, in case of a nuk emergency

I’m going to get right down to business so you can see the pictures faster.

*He weighs 25.6 pounds

*He is 32 1/4 inches tall (I think that’s right, I’ll double check later)

*He has this new thing and it’s  so cute it’s killing me. Randomly he will walk over to me and put his hand on my shoulder and ask in a very concerned little voice “ok, Mommy?” And then I have to tell him that yes, I am ok. Thanks for asking. Then he goes back to doing whatever it is he was doing. So cute.

*He love love loves his new babies. They may technically be his cousins, but he thinks they belong to him. Every time that he sees them, he follows you around saying “mine hold it!” with his arms out. Any chance he gets he gives them kisses and talks to them. It’s the sweetest thing.

*He’s talking in awesome sentences. So funny and charming. He also likes to give high fives and “knucks”

*The highlight of the month was getting to spend some time on a real Zamboni. It dumped snow, it “beep beep”ed. It. was. awesome.

*He’s very into trains also. He still really loves road construction equipment (aka: bobos)

*It’s hard to believe that just two short years ago, we were holding our tiny, little five pound baby. He has come a long way.

To say we are blessed, doesn’t really even begin to cover it. Dylan and Luke are our reason for everything. The priveledge of parenting is an unbelievable gift. We never take that for granted.
